From outdoor parks to convention centres, Okanagan's Summer Wine Festival takes over the valley region for an entire week in July. Travellers of the legal drinking age come out each year to taste libations of the region's fine wines, including its sweetest varieties like icewine and its dry, exotic offerings like the Cabernet franc. Guests can stay at the luxurious Walnut Beach Resort for a summer holiday anywhere from July 7 to 15, when a multitude of Okanagan venues will open its doors for this annual wine tasting affair.
One of the week's most rewarding events will take place at the Hester Creek Winery on July 11, where the vineyard invites any adults age 19 or older to find their inner "ohm" among rows of growing grapes. Starting at 10 a.m., wine lovers and yoga enthusiasts of various levels can start their day off with a stretching and meditative session, and proceed with a cool-down stroll through the British Columbia vineyard. Afterwards, guests will enjoy a light lunch paired with Hester Creek wines in the facility's demonstration kitchen.
To add a little art to travellers' stays, they can visit the House of Rose Winery as well, which will host the Artists in Action event on July 7-8 and 14-15. All day long, guests can peruse local Okanagan artists' work while enjoying complimentary samples from the vineyard, and if they desire, can set up a picnic area among the orchards for the afternoon.
After a long exploration of Okanagan's wine culture, guests can return to the comfort of their Osoyoos hotel rooms and enjoy the rest of a peaceful and relaxing summer holiday.
