Okanagan’s sweet treats entice travellers of all ages

Just because fall is arriving does not mean that ice cream season is over. Carmelis might be an artisan goat cheese shop, but its gelato is what has patrons crying out over the vineyard hills of Okanagan in pure childlike joy. Using large chunks of fresh fruit, rich chocolate and other ingredients, Carmelis concocts about 24 different flavours for every type of sweet lover. One that has had recent taste buds singing is the salted caramel gelato – and because goat's milk is lower in fat than traditional cream, guests don't have to feel so guilty when they opt for the bigger cup.

Another spot that has crafted some world-class Italian-inspired dessert is the Okanagan Lavender Farm. After spending a day exploring the scenery surrounding the luxurious Osoyoos hotel, guests can head to the herb farm and sample lavender-infused vanilla, chocolate and lemon gelatos, made by local dairy house, Marble Slab Creamery.
