Okanagan, or "Adventure" Valley, as many lovers of the region call it, is filled with places to explore and get an adrenaline kick, from Skaha Bluffs to sightings of the legendary sea monster in Okanagan Lake. Before the fall season comes to a close, travellers can plan getaways to the prized valley of British Columbia and reserve rooms at the Walnut Beach Resort.
To start off with a bang, travellers can head to Skaha Bluffs and prepare for the rock climb of a lifetime. About 2,000 routes abound throughout the region, some of which drop down vertically, making a near-perfect 90-degree angle with the ground below. Those who may need to dust off their skills can contact one of the provincial park's expert guides and receive assistance while climbing the steep cliffs.
Afterward, adventure seekers will feel like they've earned a leisurely cruise along Okanagan Lake onboard a kayak, and attempt to spot the infamous Ogopogo, the mythical sea monster that inhabits the waters. After mistaking a choppy wave or two for fins, guests can head to shore and enjoy dinner and wine at the luxurious Osoyoos hotel's onsite restaurant, which serves gourmet cuisine and locally crafted libations from a number of the renowned vineyards found in British Columbia's wine country.
