The 2012/2013 Minds and Music concert series brings some of the most talented musicians in the world to students at the University of British Columbia. This weekend, Okanagan campus students and music enthusiasts visiting and staying at the Walnut Beach Resort will get to hear the skilled strumming of Daniel Bolshoy, a renowned Spanish guitarist.
Featuring music from the 16th to the 19th centuries of Spanish guitar history, Bolshoy will entertain audience members in a free concert at the J. Peter Meekison Student Centre at the Okanagan campus in Kelowna. The young yet inspiring musician will perform works by legends of Spanish guitar, including Eduardo Sainz de la Maza, Sergio Assad and Michael Karmon.
From house concerts to international stages, Bolshoy is an accomplished artist who brings a modern flair to the classical string instrument. If you're looking to catch a show that might have you dusting off your own guitar, then be sure to reserve your tickets to this free event, which takes place only a short drive from the luxurious Osoyoos hotel, Walnut Beach.
Made possible through the Irving K. Barber Endowment, the Minds and Music concert series is an enrichment program that caters not only to faculty and professors, but to the Okanagan Valley community.
