If you're flying to Kelowna on Canada's low-cost carrier WestJet anytime soon, you might want to pack more lightly than usual. According to an announcement Tuesday, the airline will reduce the number of carry-on bags from two to one, plus one personal item. While many travellers may see this as a hassle, especially if they're looking to pack enough belongings to last them a week at the luxurious Walnut Beach Resort, WestJet's Bob Cummings think it will expedite the boarding process, The Calgary Herald reports.
"It will also create a more consistent experience for guests … connecting to and from flights offered by our code-share and interline partners, most of whom have already adopted this standard," Cummings, the executive vice president of sales, marketing and guest experience, told the news source.
You can still bring your purse, laptop bag or diaper bag on board, but that extra backpack or suitcase must be checked starting April 4. For those travelling to the luxurious Osoyoos hotel, WestJet does provide airline services from the Kelowna International Airport, which is only a short drive away from the British Columbia resort.
