This August, the South Okanagan Events Centre heads way down south to the U.S. state of Oklahama, where country star Blake Shelton hails. Country Music Award's Male Vocalist of the Year will bring the ultimate hoedown on Saturday, August 4, to thousands of fans inside one of the Valley's largest music venues. Guests who cannot get enough of the country superstar and TV coach on the smash hit reality show, The Voice, can buy tickets to the event and reserve rooms at the Walnut Beach Resort to have a summer holiday they may never forget.
Shelton has been in the country music scene since the early 21st century, churning out six consecutive number one hits and a Grammy Award-nominated album, Red River Blue. While his hit tunes such as "Austin," "Honey Bee" and "Goodbye Time" gain him most of his recognition from fans, his recent claim to fame has been on The Voice, where he joins other music superstars Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green to guide and train up-and-coming pop stars with unbelievable singing voices.
"I'm still learning, still reaching and growing, and it's great to have more and more people along for the ride," Shelton told Billboard.
Okanagan Valley visitors can pick up their tickets for the August event and reserve their weekend holiday at the Osoyoos hotel with spectacular views of British Columbia's wine country.
